We are a group of American expatriates who are seeking to create a source of support, for the country that we love and for each other.
To participate in this group, we ask that you meet these three criteria:
You are an American expatriate
We share the commonality of residing in another country, but the reasons for our departure from the U.S. are as varied and individual as each of us. It has been my experience that we tend to be an adventurous lot, with a love of travel and an appreciation for other cultures and peoples.
You love The United States of America and our democratic history and norms
Living abroad does not mean we love our county any less, and during these trying times, it is imperative that we find ways to express ourselves and support the resistance against the growth of fascism. Whether in the past, you have identified as a democrat, republican, independent, or other…it is time to put differences aside and unite as Americans. The great experiment that our founding fathers envisioned, and that our brave men and women have fought for over the last two hundred and fifty years, is still worth fighting for today. We believe that as expatriates, we can make a unique contribution.

If you are hoping that we can simply return to 2015, this may not be the group for you. What this decade has revealed is that the attack on our democracy and constitutional law started long before that. Likewise, the lackluster response of a significant portion of the Democratic Party to the onslaught of American fascism has revealed a layer of moral corruption that transgresses party lines. The guardrails that we assumed existed to protect our democratic system—three distinct and equal governmental branches, election integrity, the autonomy of the Department of Justice, among other things—have been shown to be faulty or in some cases, nonexistent. Once the virus of fascism is expunged, we must be ready to install guardrails to make sure that it can never gain foothold again.
